Wrapping up 2023

Best wishes to all for a Happy and Healthy New Year! As 2023 comes to a close, I’ve been thinking about how grateful I am to watch jewelry I’ve made with my own hands head to new homes.

2023 brought a bounty of new experiences! I started out the year by taking classes in still life jewelry photography. I’ve shared three of my favorite photos of the year, all using natural light and interesting shadows to highlight the texture and curves of jewelry from the collection.

I fleshed out the Secure Attachment collection this year with the versatile Secure Attachment chain taking center stage allowing the addition of charms and pendants. I launched the Renew charm collection this past fall to add to my selection of pendants and organic form charms to build layers to add to a variety of chains. I’ve added several new link bracelets to the collection and have more in the works on my bench. The addition of 14K gold center link with oxidized silver in the secure attachment chain was a new twist in 2023. Expect to see more mixed gold and silver precious metals sprinkled in the collection in 2024.

I had wonderful experiences at the in person shows I did this year in Summit NJ and Soho NYC. The most popular item I sold in person were rings. I will be sure to have new rings at my next show! I also participated in the Visual Arts Center members show in Summit NJ, the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Fair (where I won my fourth ribbon for metalsmithing), and in the Mirrors of the Mind psychotherapists who are also artists Virtual show organized by Los Angeles County Psychological Association. I am very proud to be quoted about making my recycled Renew collection in a JCK online article about sustainable jewelry. I collaborated with customers on three custom projects this past year that were very well received.

My mind is racing ahead to collection ideas for 2024. I am continuing to take classes in wax carving and am looking forward to adding lost wax casting designs to my hand fabricated skill set. Stay in the loop for upcoming shows and events by signing up for my monthly newsletter here.

Finally, I have settled on a way to give back to a cause that is close to my heart. In 2023 I was able to donate 10% of all sales to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. My work as a jeweler has benefited from my perspective as a psychologist and infused my artistic voice. When you purchase from me know you are helping a great cause while you enjoy hand crafted art jewelry for your personal collection. I will continue donating to this worthy cause in 2024.
