August

Every summer my family convenes on the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard for a classic beach vacation. I love the opportunity to renew family bonds and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Beach outings, bike riding, playing golf, reading, and playing board games are just a few of my favorite diversions. For the past few years I have made a point of creating a completely new piece of jewelry for entry in the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Fair. There is a division for metalsmith jewelry and this year I won second place for the Secure Attachment Link Necklace. The Ag Fair is a very low key competition and this year there were some terrific entries and I was proud to win a ribbon. I really enjoy exploring the beautiful crafts, artwork, vegetables, flowers and baked goods that are submitted for the fair every year.

The Secure Attachment Link Necklace is comprised of 5 different link shapes connected by oval rings and handmade closure. I have been working on a new collection due to be released this fall using these shapes in earrings and bracelets with accented gemstones. This collection incorporates my interest in attachment in human development explored as artistic expression, On my instagram account I’ve made a reel where I talk about the inspiration for this collection.
