The best part of the summer season is how long the days are and I feel like I can fit in so much more. I love to walk the dog, swim and play golf (still trying to learn to read a green) and soon will head for an annual family vacation. This is also the time I am actively prepping for in person events coming up this fall. What that means is going through inventory and rounding out collections. I am concentrating on 6 collections now; Organic Form, Blue Gem, Essential, Visible Attachment, Surfboard and Fordite. I’ve recently retired the Land Sea Sky and Wavy Bar collections and you can find some beautiful items on my sample sale tab. Why retire collections? I am filled with ideas of what I want to express in a collection and when I feel it’s finished I start itching for the next concept. I am already at work on a new collection called Secure Attachment and have ideas for more collections to come. Below I share a sneak peak of the Secure Attachment collection.
I’ve titled this post Mark your Calendar, so you might save the date to meet me in person on September 18th when I will be in downtown Summit NJ at the Arts and Cars Festival. This is my second year attending and it is a really fun event combining the art show with a car show and the Farmers market too. In honor of the arts and cars theme I will be highlighting the Fordite collection which brings together car culture and art in my jewelry. I will display items from all the collections so you can try on and see for yourself. I love to talk about jewelry, so come and chat! You can also mark your calendar for November 4-5 when I will be at a pop up holiday event in NYC, details to come.
Behind the scenes Secure Attachment Collection development
Work in progress on this link necklace for the secure attachment collection. I am using 5 shapes in varying stages of negative space and solidity to express the importance of secure bonds to create stability and joy. Created in sterling silver. look for the addition of 24K gold highlights, diamonds and gemstones for a collection that fuses my love of jewelry and psychology.
