One Year Anniversary!

Thank you so much to everyone for supporting Lori Aks Jewelry in its first year in business!

On April 19th, 2021 Lori Aks Jewelry was officially registered as a business, with the website debut on May 16th. My first in person booth show was at Arts and Cars in downtown Summit NJ in September. The Visible Attachment bracelet won a blue ribbon in August at the Martha’s Vineyard Ag Fair and the River Pearl Ring was included in a virtual show for psychotherapists that are also artists sponsored by the Los Angeles County Psychological Association. In December my Fordite earrings made it into JCK, a trade publication feature. Crinkled Earrings are in Chicago at Gallery 2052 for the #MADFORHOOPS show until May 15th.

These milestones were wonderful, but the real joy has been watching the jewelry fly off to their destinations with customers who put their faith in purchasing from a new brand. I thank everyone who looked at my website, commented on my posts, and were willing to hear me talk about art jewelry.

All through the year I had a productive time at the bench. One area I’ve really embraced this year is creating collections of jewelry. Organic form, Surfboard, Visible Attachment, Blue Gem, Fordite, Sky Sea Land and Wavy Bar are the collections that moved me over the past year and are paving the way for what is next.

The latest is The Essential collection which is being launched in time for the one year birthday of Lori Aks Jewelry. This collection answers the question, Can you style Art Jewelry? Essential incorporates my signature curving designs with the intention to be styled together as a family. Combining open form with closed form mixed with strategically placed gemstones and mixing metals, creates light layers of jewelry that will be as unique as you are. You are included in the process of creating sculpture as you decide to place these hand made pieces together. The Essential collection provides a starting point to layer pieces from all the collections as they all share the signature curving shapes and connected design.

What’s next for Lori Aks Jewelry? I’m already at work on a new Attachment collection and have some great ideas to expand the crinkled hoops into a collection too. I will have my Convertible Organic Form necklace exhibited and for sale at the members show at NJ Visual Arts from June 3-12th. Come meet me at the opening on June 3rd at 6pm.
