Heading into 2023

Best wishes to all for a Happy and Healthy Holiday season. As the year comes to a close, it feels appropriate to review and set intentions for the year to come. 2022 brought a bounty of new experiences! First and foremost was being able to see my daughter get married this past April to a wonderful man I now call my son in law. I was honored to make jewelry for the bride, her sister, my mother and myself to wear at the wedding. My daughter needlepointed bride and groom signs for the back of their chairs too, so it seems that the urge to make things runs in the family. I think the trend to handmade touches at our special occasions is one that brings everyone together and feels special and unique.

In the studio the year started by bringing a new jewelers bench to my home studio and it has gotten so much fantastic use this year. Last month I added a used high speed polishing cabinet to my stable of tools and I am sure it will be well loved as well. I really stepped out of my comfort zone by participating in many in-person jewelry events this past year. It has been so wonderful to get out of the studio to meet customers and see what they like in the collections and also to meet other jewelry makers and talk about what we love to do. Check my events page regularly to see where I will be in 2023.

I am very pleased with the collections released in 2022: Essential, Organic Form and Secure Attachment. I’ve continued to add Blue Gem and Fordite pieces to keep those collections going and I am phasing out collections where most pieces have sold (Surfboard, Wavy Bar and Sky Sea Land). You can find beautiful pieces from these collections on the sample sale page and it is a nice opportunity to buy handmade work at a discount.

My mind is racing ahead to collection ideas for 2023. I am already at work on enhancements to my ever popular Crinkled Hoops. Expect to see versions with gemstones coming soon. I have already made a few trial versions of crinkled rings and pendants and am very excited to see how they evolve. I am also taking classes in wax carving and am looking forward to adding to my hand fabricated skill set.

Finally, I have settled on a way to give back to a cause that is close to my heart. Going forward I am donating 10% of all collection sales to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. My work as a jeweler has benefited from my perspective as a psychologist and infused my artistic voice. When you purchase from me know you are helping a great cause while you enjoy hand crafted art jewelry for your personal collection.

Warmest

Holiday Wishes!

Thank you for your interest and support through 2022 and I look forward to sharing more adventures in jewelry with you in 2023.
