As I look out the window I see the leaves are changing color, the days are shorter and it’s getting colder especially in the evenings. My birthday is in October and I am fortunate to enjoy the dual birthstones of Opal and Tourmaline. I am looking forward to a trip to Spain and Portugal, my first time out of the country since the pandemic began. It’s been a lifelong dream to see Barcelona and the incredible Gaudi architecture which speaks to my curving, organic aesthetic. Please note, I will not be able to ship orders from my website from October 22-November 1st, so if you need something soon place your order by October 21st.
Last month I had a wonderful show in downtown Summit NJ where I met so many new customers. There has been a lot of rain here in NJ, but that day was perfect weather. The Arts and Cars festival was packed with dogs and strollers and so many people having a wonderful Sunday. My husband helped me set up my tent and even talked with customers about the Fordite pieces which fit in so well with the antique car theme of the day.
In studio updates I have been working hard at making new Secure Attachment chains to get ready for my next show in Soho on November 4-5th. I’ve added more Renew Charms (with moonstone) and the Jade Grandidierite Earrings (pictured below) to the website. I just learned today that the Renew Charms are mentioned in a JCK industry press article about sustainable jewelry. Read the article here.
This month I have been attending wax carving workshops with the amazing Jeanette Mullarkey of Fenestra Jewelry at the Visual Arts Center of NJ. I have hand fabricated my work for over ten years and am excited about adding wax carving to my skill set especially for rings that will express my vision. Stay tuned to see the rings I have created so far.
I have been making some custom projects for people who have reached out to me with requests. If you need a custom piece of jewelry for the holidays please let me know by November 15th, so I will have time to complete it and get it to you in time.
