Doodling

I took art classes in high school and college and learned that I have passable drawing skills. When I started making jewelry I realized it was very hard to make the jewelry come out exactly like the drawing. I’ve come to appreciate the concept of jewelry doodling as a great way of documenting my ideas. I am most interested in shapes and then I make notes about possible materials, attachments and colors. Sometimes I cut out the shape and rubber cement it to the metal to saw it out exactly with my jewelers saw. Sometimes the drawing is just to point me in a general direction. Doodling is just another way of creative brainstorming and I highly recommend it.
